TORONTO, ONTARIO - The 2009 Koni Challenge Series continues this weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway. One of the favorites coming into the weekend in the ST class has to be the #76 Compass360 Racing Honda Civic Si of Matt Pritiko and Travis Walker.
The duo is fresh off a podium performance at the season opener at Daytona. "I am looking forward to continuing the success that I had in Daytona," Pritiko said. "I was very pleased with the third place in round one - especially as it was my first podium in the Koni Challenge."
"Just stepping upon the podium was a great feeling and one that I hope to experience again this weekend - except this time we're aiming for a higher step."
For the first time this year, the Koni Challenge Series will run split classes, and Pritiko is up for the challenge. "It is very different when we have our own ST class race," Pritiko said. "It creates a whole new dynamic for the race, and I am sure we will have the Compass360 Racing Honda Civic Si at the front of the pack."
After returning from Daytona, Pritiko was in for more good news as he was nominated as one of Canada's ‘Up and Coming Road Racers' by the industry leading Canadian motorsport magazine, Inside Track Motorsport News.

In 2007, Pritiko completed his rookie season in Koni Challenge, finishing 15th in the standings, with a top five and four top tens. Pritiko was a member of Sunoco's Team Ultra 94 and collected 1 win, 2 poles and five podiums in the Bridgestone F2000 Series. In 2002, Pritiko is was 2nd in F125/80cc in the Point Pelee Championships and took home the 2002 Most Sportsmanlike award.
