Merrittville Speedway: Deadline for driver VIP passes and BRP driving school approaches

Thorold, Ontario ( March 6) – With a successful Open House signaling the start of the DIRTcar season across the northeast, Bicknell Racing Products is now open Saturdays.

Merrittville Speedway’s Winter Office – located in the St. Catharines’ head quarters will be open from 9 AM to 12 PM Saturday March 21st to accommodate racers that may not be able to visit during business hours weekdays.

Drivers planning to compete in any of the Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Divisions are reminded that the deadline to take advantage of the special Driver VIP Pass of April 1 is quickly approaching.

While it is no April Fool’s joke – missing out on the savings would be.

Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinder Driver VIP Passes are $150.00 while for the Hoosier Stocks, Modern Corporation Open Wheel Lites, Original Pizza Logs Sportsman and L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modifieds – the special rate is $200.00.

The Driver VIP Pass is good for all 2009 events from April 2nd to September 5th.

Pit Crew Members can also take advantage of pre-April 1st membership and season pass deals.

Early Bird Memberships are available until April 1st for $50.00 while Pit Season Passes sell for $350.00. Purchase of a Season Pass before the increase results in a potential savings of $195.00.

Memberships are still available after the deadline as are Season Passes. New Prices are $75.00 and $400.00 respectively.

Race teams can also visit the Seaway Mall the week of March 16th to 22nd during the Race Car Show to fill out their VIP and Membership Forms if the Mall Hours are more convenient.

The Seaway Mall Show Hours are Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 9 PM, Saturday from 9:30 to 5:30 and Sunday from 12 Noon to 5 PM.

The upcoming Bicknell Racing Products Chassis Seminar and Pete Bicknell Driving School is also coming up quickly and limited space is still available in any of the 2009 Dates – April 11th, 12th and 18th.

“Although our focus leans towards Sportsmen and Modified Teams.” reveals BRP’s Randy Williamson, “each year … our classes are made up of drivers from all divisions looking to boost their confidence and knowledge … the first day is sold out – however limited space is available in the other sessions.”

The day long sessions feature both classroom and on track sessions that will benefit any type of race car – from entry level Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders to Classic Dwarf Cars and Mod Lites to the Sportsmen and 358 or Big Block Modified type race cars.

Drivers and crew members alike will learn what it takes to stop the guess work when it comes to solving improper handling, how to adapt to changing track conditions, proper spring and shock selecting and how to interpret weight transfer, body roll and roll steer.

Each on track portion will provide drivers with proper driving techniques and will teach tire selection and overall car preparation.

Both the class room and on track portions will be held at Merrittville Speedway.

All Inclusive Registration Fee for Drivers is $300 while the Crew Member Fee is $75.
