Football: Broad Run 52, Potomac falls 24

(Oct. 30, 2010) - Derrill Thomas rushed for three touchdowns and Mitchell Nicholas returned an interception for a score and ran one in as the Spartans blew past Potomac Falls Friday, 52-24.

Broad Run led 27-0 at the half but Potomac Falls should spirit with sophomore quarterback John Fischetti throwing for 366 yards in the contest including two scores to Nich Fernandez, who had 214 yards

(Oct. 29, 2010) - The Stone Bridge High School football team played a nearly flawless first half Friday as the Bulldogs mauled McLean for 38 points before the break in a match-up of teams with 8-0 records. (Oct. 29, 2010) - The Dominion High School football team most likely clinched the school's first ever playoff bid with this big win Friday at Park View. Trey Baxter hooked up with Sammy Coleman for two TD throws, including one that was set up by a 70-yard Baxter run as the Titans erased a 14-7 third quarter deficit with 17 straight points.

South Riding (Oct. 29, 2010) - Loudoun County High School's defense turned six sacks into a shutout as sophomore Jake Lokey threw for 132 yards and ran in the game's only touchdown in the Raiders 12-0 Dulles District win at Freedom Friday night.

The Eagles, without starting quarterack Matt Malacane, who went out injured in last week's win at Potomac Falls, were held to 122 total yards.

News: Loudoun County Defeats Park View, 19-7, in Touchdowns for Tommy Charity Football Alumni Game

(Oct. 27, 2010) - After a month of postponements due to weather, the second annual Touchdowns for Tommy charity football alumni game was held last week with Loudoun County defeating Park View, 19-7, to avenge a 21-19 last-minute loss in the 2009 contest.

(Oct. 25, 2010) - In the latest VHSL football ratings, undefeated Stone Bridge is tied for first in the Northern Region Division 5 standings with McLean at 28.5 points. The two teams tangle Friday in Ashburn with the Liberty District title and homefield advantage in the regional playoffs at stake.

Ashburn (Oct. 24, 2010) - Briar Woods High School quarterback Trace McSorley threw two touchdown passes in a two-minute span at the end of the third quarter Friday to lead the Falcons to a 24-10 win over Park View and clinch at least a share of the school's first ever AA Dulles District football title.

Football: McGrath's Vikings Spoil His Alma Mater's Homecoming as Valley Beats Herndon, 35-14

Herndon (Oct. 23, 2010) - Loudoun Valley High School varsity football coach Danny McGrath was honored before Herndon's Homecoming game Saturday with the 2000 Herndon graduate handed a Hornets jersey, but once the game started it was all Viking green as McGrath's men used a big first quarter to spoil Herndon' special day, 35-14.

The non-district win improved Loudoun Valley to 6-2 on the season
