Volleyball: Broad Run Clinches Second Seed in Dulles with 5-Game Thriller Against Freedom

(Oct. 27, 2010) - Broad Run High School clinched the second seed for next week's Dulles District tournament with a hard-fought win over Freedom Tuesday night in five games, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 13-25, 15-13.

News: Other Coaching Hires Approved by School Board on Oct. 26

(Oct. 27, 2010) - The Loudoun County Public Schools Board was busy last night approving some 30 coaching hires.

Besides Jason Miller as the new varsity baseball coach, Briar Woods also hired Eric W. Bateman as the Falcons varsity swim coach. Another new swim coach will be Jennifer House, formerly at Stone Bridge, moving over to Woodgrove.

Baseball: Briar Woods Hires Jason Miller as New Varsity Coach

Ashburn (Oct. 27, 2010) - Briar Woods High School announced Wednesday that Jason Miller has been hired as the Falcons new varsity baseball coach.

Miller, who moves over from Park View where he has been an assistant varsity coach for the past two seasons, replaces Josh Mosser who stepped down after the spring season.

Football: VHSL Ratings - Stone Bridge and McLean Tied in Northern Region D5 in Advance of Friday's Showdown

(Oct. 25, 2010) - In the latest VHSL football ratings, undefeated Stone Bridge is tied for first in the Northern Region Division 5 standings with McLean at 28.5 points. The two teams tangle Friday in Ashburn with the Liberty District title and homefield advantage in the regional playoffs at stake.

Football: Briar Woods Clinches a Share of First Dulles District Title with 24-10 Win Over Park View

Ashburn (Oct. 24, 2010) - Briar Woods High School quarterback Trace McSorley threw two touchdown passes in a two-minute span at the end of the third quarter Friday to lead the Falcons to a 24-10 win over Park View and clinch at least a share of the school's first ever AA Dulles District football title.

Golf: Area Girls Tee it Up at VHSL Open Championship Monday

(Oct. 22, 2010) - Broad Run High School's Danielle Cook finished second at this week's state qualifier played at Rock Harbour Golf Club to become one of 10 Loudoun girls that will tee it up for a state title at the two-day VHSL Girls Open which starts Monday at Red Wing Golf Club in Virginia Beach.

Football: Virginia Lions Standout Christian Flores Walks On at Northwestern

Softball: Briar Woods and Loudoun Valley Have Seasons End in State Quarterfinals

(June 9, 2010) - The Briar Woods High School and Loudoun Valley High School softball seasons came to an end Tuesday with both teams falling in the state quarterfinals, the Falcons at Powhatan, 4-0, in AA and the Vikings at Madison, 6-1, in AAA.
