Football: Loudoun County 12, Freedom 0

South Riding (Oct. 29, 2010) - Loudoun County High School's defense turned six sacks into a shutout as sophomore Jake Lokey threw for 132 yards and ran in the game's only touchdown in the Raiders 12-0 Dulles District win at Freedom Friday night.

The Eagles, without starting quarterack Matt Malacane, who went out injured in last week's win at Potomac Falls, were held to 122 total yards.

Volleyball: Broad Run Clinches Second Seed in Dulles with 5-Game Thriller Against Freedom

(Oct. 27, 2010) - Broad Run High School clinched the second seed for next week's Dulles District tournament with a hard-fought win over Freedom Tuesday night in five games, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 13-25, 15-13.

(Oct. 27, 2010) - After a month of postponements due to weather, the second annual Touchdowns for Tommy charity football alumni game was held last week with Loudoun County defeating Park View, 19-7, to avenge a 21-19 last-minute loss in the 2009 contest.

The oldest alumni at the game at Park View High School were Patriot Randy Kushner (class of '78) and Raider J.B. Anderson (Class of '66).

Football: Broad Run Starts Fast and Runs Past Loudoun County, 37-18, to improve to 8-1

Leesburg (Oct. 25, 2010) - Broad Run High School freshman Da'Qwan Earl took the opening kickoff Friday back 87 yards for a touchdown and the Spartans never looked back as they defeated Loudoun County, 37-18.

The win improved the Spartans to 4-1 in the Dulles District and 8-1 overall while the Raiders dropped to 1-3 and 3-5. The only blemish on Broad Run's record is a loss at Briar Woods, which

Volleyball: Drive for Five - Raiders Clinch 5th Straight Dulles District Regular-Season Title

Ashburn (Oct. 22, 2010) - The Loudoun County High School volleyball team swept second-place Broad Run Thursday night to wrap up the Raiders fifth consecutive Dulles District regular-season title.

The three-time defending AA state champions are now 17-1 on the season and a perfect 14-0 in district after the 25-23, 25-21, 25-19 victory.

Volleyball: Broad Run's Big Thursday Match with Raiders is Also a Wounded Warriors Project Fundraiser

Ashburn (Oct. 19, 2010) - The Broad Run High School volleyball team is hosting three-time AA state champion Loudoun County on Thursday in a key AA Dulles District match that will also serve as a fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors Project.

Football: Video of Loudoun County's Game-Winning Play in Overtime


(Oct. 16, 2010) - In the video below, Loudoun County High School junior Antonio Rutherford has just collected a screen pass near the 23-yard line in overtime and then splits the defense and flies towards the end zone, breaking the plane of the goal line with the football in his arm out-stretched.

Football: Touchdowns for Tommy Charity Game Postponed Again

(Oct. 14, 2010) - For the second time in a month wet field conditions have postponed the Touchdowns for Tommy charity football game between former Loudoun County and Park View high school players. Organizers have not released a new date yet for the game where all proceeds will benefit SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood.)

Competitive Cheer: Stone Bridge Wins Third Annual Cheers Sports Spirit Bowl

(Oct. 14, 2010) - The Stone Bridge High School competitive cheer team made it two straight meet victories as the host Bulldogs won the Third Annual Cheers Sports Spirit Bowl on Saturday.

Showing the state power's depth was the fact that Stone Bridge's JV squad finished third, ahead of seven other varsity units. Stone Bridge varsity also captured the Park View Invitational this season.

Golf: Loudoun County Finishes 4th in AA State Tournament

Girls Soccer: Spartans Sweep Region II Awards as Whitney Church is Player of th Year and Claire Collins is Coach of the Year

(June 17, 2010) - The Broad Run High School girls soccer team -- which just wrapped up a third straight AA state title -- swept the Region II honors with junior Whitney Church being named the Player of the Year and Claire Collins the Coach of the Year. A total of seven Dulles District players made the first team.
