PMRA: Gulfway Insurers sponsors PMRA Best Reaction Time in 2006

BAYONET POINT, FL – The Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), www.ProModifiedRacing.com, is pleased to announce that Gulfway Insurers will sponsor the Best Reaction Time at each series event in 2006.

“A race operation is so specialized that insuring them takes expert knowledge,” explained Mel Eaves, Gulfway Insurers owner. “What better way to say that than to sponsor a group of Pro Modified Teams that have worked hard to develop a series of their own. I know because I have been competing in various motorsports since 1960, and have the expert knowledge to properly insure a racing operation at affordable prices.”

Gulfway Insurers, http://www.racensur.com/, a leader in specialty insurance, Gulfway Insurers sets the standard of excellence for the Motorsports Industry. Gulfway believes the owners of motorsports operations take considerable pride and care in maintaining their race team, including the team’s transporter, race cars and support equipment.

“Gulfway Insurance is the standard of excellence in motorsports insurance,” stated Bruce F. Mehlenbacher, Director of Operations of the PMRA. “We think it’s great to have Mel and his company on board with the PMRA.”

Gulfway offers the most extensive coverage available. At Gulfway, you are insured by a nationally licensed US-based insurance company and have a specific policy for your operation. This means you are not part of a master policy and do not have to join a group for coverage.
Gulfway is licensed in each state by the Insurance Commissioner and must meet all legal requirements of each state. Claims are handled by local claim representatives of your insurance company. And, most importantly, we have a staff which understands racing and a racer's needs.

Started late in 2004 and entering its second year of operation, the PMRA ran five events in 2005 at four Ontario, Quebec, and New York locations, with a different winner at each track. The PMRA will provide drag race fans the opportunity to see and hear popular Pro Modified racing in the class known as “the world’s fastest door slammers.”

At present, PMRA officials are negotiating with several eighth and quarter-mile tracks in Ontario, Quebec, Michigan and New York with the plan of presenting a six -event drag racing series in 2006.

The PMRA is a self-governing organization with its own set of technical and safety rules based on the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Pro Modified division. Cars in the PMRA capture the true spirit of hot rodding, and the class offers a widely diverse group of racecars with different types of 2000-horsepower engines propelling the cars down the quarter-mile in the 6.20-second range at 230 mph.
