In the past few years, we saw the evolution of mobile phones to what we now call and use as smartphones and it seems at these devices are evolving more and more by the minute. If you were at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), you may have seen or heard about the Motorola Droid Bionic, which is an Android-based smartphone with 4G capabilities. Other phones from the Motorola brand that were introduced during the said event include Artix, Xoom and CLIQ 2. Originally, the Droid Bionic was scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2011. But it was later moved to summer or perhaps fall of this year.

Certain Features & Specifications of the Droid Bionic

As mentioned earlier, Droid Bionic is 4G-capable. It uses the 4G LTE network of Verizon. When it comes to viewing and display, this smartphone has a 4.3 inch qHD display with resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. If you are one of those mobile phone enthusiasts who like phones with a wider display, then you won't be disappointed with Motorola's droid bionic It also has touch screen capabilities like most smartphones.

The droid bionic has an 8-megapixel camera with video capture located at the rear. Not only that, it has this additional camera - a front-facing VGA - with 0.3 megapixels as well. With regards to connectivity, you don't have to worry because this soon-to-be-released smartphone has USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and even HDMI connection. It's interesting to note that even the HTC Thunderbolt and the iPhone has no HDMI output. The Motorola droid bionic also has a 3.5mm headphones connector. There's a memory slot too so you can save your files (images, music, videos, etc.) to your memory card. But perhaps the biggest interest is with its hardware. It has a 1GHz tegra 2 Dual-core processor.

Droid Bionic Release Date

It was reported that the droid bionic was delayed because several enhancements were made to it so that it will be a better smartphone with topnotch quality when it finally hits stores. What are the enhancements made? The details were unspecified and even the cost is still unknown. Smartphone consumers can expect the release of the said mobile phone this summer but there are rumors circulating the online community that the release date was rescheduled to fall. Guess we'll have to see. In the meantime, we'll be in waiting mode, especially for the droid bionic release.
