New Year, new start for TwoFast Racing

Montréal, January 11th 2006 – The New Year brings in some very positive changes for TwoFast Racing. Indeed, they have just added a lot of experience and competence to the team: Normand Lafleur, of Normac, is now responsible for the Mazda Protégé engines and Stéphane McNeil is the new head mechanic.

Christian Raymond, co-owner and driver at TwoFast racing, is very happy with the new partnership, and considers the next racing season as being the first REAL season for the team. “Our rookie season was more of a learning experience. We spent considerably more time learning and understanding the cars than racing them. With our new partners, a new confidence can be felt in the team and we are very much looking forward to the 2006 season.”

TwoFast Racing’s new partners are not newcomers. Stéphane McNeil has been a driver and instructor in Car Rally for a many years, as well as working in specialty tuning for Lachute Performance. He therefore brings a lot of know-how, and will be assisted by 2 mechanics. He will be responsible for the whole car except the engines.

Having met him at the Montreal SCP, Christian and Eric LeBlanc decided to give the engine preparation to Normand Lafleur. He has been involved in motorsports for more than twenty years and wanted to get back into competition.

“This year, there will be 2 cars equipped with 2.0 liters engines, as well as 3rd car, a work in progress, with a 2.3 liters engine, which might do a few races. The cars will be completely rebuilt over the winter, to insure maximum reliability. The engines will be different than last season and we have already planned some dynamometer sessions before the start of the season. We are really looking forward to get on track!” concludes Christian and especially Eric who did not get a chance to race in 2005.

And to top it all, Christian and Eric are completing the last arrangements for a sales division of parts exclusive to Mazda cars.
