Golf: Dominion's Shelby Shote Places 9th at the VHSL Girls State Open

(Oct. 27, 2010) - Dominion High School senior Shelby Shote finished her bright Titan golf career with a ninth place finish this week at the Virginia High School League girls state open at the Red Wing Golf Club in Virginia Beach.

The tournament was won by Lyberty Anderson of Machester who fired a 67 and 69 in the two-day event to win by two strokes over Chantilly's Ju Hee Bae (68-70=138). Shote

Golf: Area Girls Tee it Up at VHSL Open Championship Monday

(Oct. 22, 2010) - Broad Run High School's Danielle Cook finished second at this week's state qualifier played at Rock Harbour Golf Club to become one of 10 Loudoun girls that will tee it up for a state title at the two-day VHSL Girls Open which starts Monday at Red Wing Golf Club in Virginia Beach.

Football: Latest VHSL Ratings - Six Loudoun Teams in Playoff Position


(Oct. 19, 2010) - The latest Virginia High School League football ratings put six of Loudoun's 12 schools in playoff position with undefeated Stone Bridge on pace to be the top seed in the Northern Region Division 5 playoffs.

Loudoun Valley is poised to return to the playoffs in the Northwest Region Division 5 playoffs and Broad Run and Briar Woods rank 2-3 in the Region II Division 4 ratings.

Golf: Loudoun Valley Finishes 5th at AAA State Tournament, Viking Davidson Ties for 4th

Suffolk (Oct. 13, 2010) - Loudoun Valley High School senior Scott Davidson shot a 68 Wednesday at the AAA state golf tournament at the Nansemond River Club to finish the two-day tournament tied for fourth with a 139.

The Vikings, with senior Tanner Welsh shooting 146 to tie for 12th, finished fifth as a team with 597 points. The tournament was won by Kellam with a record-breaking 577 team score

Golf: Loudoun County Finishes 4th in AA State Tournament

Blacksburg (Oct. 13, 2010) - The Loudoun County High School formidable group of golf seniors finished their fine prep careers Tuesday with a fourth place finish at the VHSL AA state tournament at the Blacksburg Country Club.

The Raiders shot 608 as a team in a tournament won by Jamestown with a record-breaking 575 -- nine strokes better than the two-day total Cox posted in the AAA tournament in

All-Time State Champion and Runner-ups in Loudoun History

(June 13, 2010) - The state titles brought home by the Broad Run and Stone Bridge high school girls soccer teams Saturday continued a trend as girls from Loudoun have now captured 43 of the total 59 state titles won.

Also, Broad Run now has 13 state titles, just two away from historic rival Park View, all-time leader with 15. Stone Bridge now has seven titles since opening a decade ago.

Girls Soccer: Stone Bridge Girls Crush Cosby, 4-0, to Win AAA State Title

(June 13, 2010) - The Stone Bridge High School girls soccer team crushed Cosby, 4-0, on Saturday with freshman Ashley Herndon adding two more goals to her record-breaking season. The win ended an undefeated run for the 21-0-2 Bulldogs and was the school's second state title, adding to a AA crown captured in 2005.

Girls Soccer: Broad Run Wins Third Straight State Title with 2-0 Win Over Loudoun County

Radford (June 11, 2010) – Broad Run High School scored a goal in each half and captured its third straight Group AA Girls Soccer State Championship with a 2-0 victory over Loudoun County Saturday morning at Radford University as part of the 2010 Spring Jubilee.

Baseball: Potomac Falls Powers Its Way to the AA State Finals

Pulaski (June 11, 2010) - The Potomac Falls High School baseball team has earned a rematch with Poquoson High School on Saturday, this time for the state championship. Radford (June 11, 2010) - Loudoun County High School defeated Blacksburg 2-0 in the Group AA Girls Soccer State semifinals Friday at Radford University as part of the 2010 Spring Jubilee.

Radford (June 11, 2010) - Hannah Walker and Leah Roth scored two goals each to lead George Mason past Gate City, 5-1, in the Group A Girls Soccer State semifinals Friday morning at Radford University as part of the 2010 Spring Jubilee.

Violet Miller also added a goal and set up another for the Mustangs.

The Blue Devils lone goal came from Anna McClung in the 64th minute.
