News: Tuscarora Hires Mark Bauer to Start Baseball Program and Steve Cariello to Start Boys Lax Program

(Oct. 27, 2010) - Tuscarora High School has hired Mark Bauer as the program's varsity baseball coach and Steve Cariello to start the Huskies new boys lacrosse program.

Bauer steps in for Traelic Cotter, originally hired to start the Huskies baseball program but forced to resign in July after his resume was called into question.

Baseball: Briar Woods Hires Jason Miller as New Varsity Coach

Ashburn (Oct. 27, 2010) - Briar Woods High School announced Wednesday that Jason Miller has been hired as the Falcons new varsity baseball coach.

Miller, who moves over from Park View where he has been an assistant varsity coach for the past two seasons, replaces Josh Mosser who stepped down after the spring season.

Baseball: Potomac Falls to Hold Golf Tournament Nov. 8 to Raise Funds for Florida Spring Break Trip

(Oct. 19, 2010) - The Potomac Falls High School baseball team, coming off the best season in school history as the Panthers went 23-4 and finished as AA state runner-ups last year, are holding a golf tournament on Nov. 8 at the 1757 Club to raise funds to play in a spring break tournament in Florida.

Baseball: PFalls Lascomb and BR's Johnston, Vlasic Named AA All-State

(June 18, 2010) - Potomac Falls High School first baseman Michael Lascomb and Broad Run DH Ryan Johnston picked up 2010 AA baseball All-State honors from the Virginia High School Coaches Association while Spartan Shane Vlasic was named honorable mention at pitcher.

Baseball: Potoamc Falls' Joe Terrango is Named Region II Coach of the Year

(June 17, 2010) - Potomac Falls High School coach Joe Terrango, who led the Panthers to the AA state finals, has been named the 2010 Region II Coach of the Year. Potomac Falls first baseman Michael Lascomb, Broad Run DH Ryan Johnston and Broad Run pitcher Shane Vlasic were all named first team.

Baseball: Three Vikings Make Second Team All-Region

(June 17, 2010) - Three Loudoun Valley High School baseball players have been named second team All-Northwest Region -- sophomore catcher Matthew Reed, senior first base Beattie Southerland and senior outfielder Alex Barr -- in a vote of the region coaches. Heritage senior outfielder Nick Clayton was also second team.

Potomac Falls Baseball, Loudoun Valley Lacrosse Fall Just Short

(June 15, 2010) - The Potomac Falls High School baseball team and Loudoun Valley High School boys lacrosse team both fell just short of state titles, losing over the weekend in the finals.

The Panthers lost to Poquoson, 9-1, in the AA baseball finals at Radford University on Sunday morning in a game that was postponed by weather from Saturday. The Vikings fell, 12-5, to a fired-up Langley squad

Baseball: AA State Title Game Time Shift

(June 9, 2010) - The VHSL has release new state title time for AA Baseball this Saturday at Radford. If Potomac Falls win, the title game will be 1 p.m. If Jefferson Forest wins, the game time would be 2:30 p.m.

The Skinny on Wednesday's Regional Semifinals: Loudoun Teams Go 10-for-12

(June 3, 2010) - Loudoun teams made a huge STATEment Wednesday night as they won 10 of 12 regional semifinal contests to advance to Frdiay's regional finals and qualify for next week's state tournament.

In all, seven soccer teams from Loudoun will be playing in States including Broad Run boys and girls, Stone Bridge boys and girls, Loudoun Valley and Loudoun County girls and Potomac Falls boys.
