Girls Soccer: Spartans Sweep Region II Awards as Whitney Church is Player of th Year and Claire Collins is Coach of the Year

(June 17, 2010) - The Broad Run High School girls soccer team -- which just wrapped up a third straight AA state title -- swept the Region II honors with junior Whitney Church being named the Player of the Year and Claire Collins the Coach of the Year. A total of seven Dulles District players made the first team.

Boys Lacrosse: Three Spartans Make All-Region II First Team

(June 17, 2010) - Three Broad Run High School boys lacrosse players -- senior defenseman Zach Clemons, junior attack Ryan Madigan and senior middie Nick Khouri -- have all been named to the 2010 All-Region II first team.

(June 17, 2010) - Broad Run High School's Kailey Phillips and Nina Dunay have been both named to the 2010 All-Region II first team in a vote of the region's girls lacrosse coaches.

Baseball: Potoamc Falls' Joe Terrango is Named Region II Coach of the Year

(June 17, 2010) - Potomac Falls High School coach Joe Terrango, who led the Panthers to the AA state finals, has been named the 2010 Region II Coach of the Year. Potomac Falls first baseman Michael Lascomb, Broad Run DH Ryan Johnston and Broad Run pitcher Shane Vlasic were all named first team.

Boys Soccer: Broad Run Beats PFalls in Region II Title Game on Foster's "Golden Goal"

(June 6, 2010) - The Broad Run High School and Potomac Falls boys soccer teams picked up Saturday right where they left off Friday ... battling to a scoreless standstill and it wasn't until a second overtime period that the Region II title game was decided on a controversial goal by junior defender Tom Foster.

(June 3, 2010) - Loudoun teams made a huge STATEment Wednesday night as they won 10 of 12 regional semifinal contests to advance to Frdiay's regional finals and qualify for next week's state tournament.

In all, seven soccer teams from Loudoun will be playing in States including Broad Run boys and girls, Stone Bridge boys and girls, Loudoun Valley and Loudoun County girls and Potomac Falls boys.

Girls Basketball: Freedom's Buchanan Named Region II D4 Player of the Year

(Feb. 28, 2010) - Freedom High School senior Kelsey Buchanan was named the 2010 Region II Division 4 Player of the Year Sunday in a vote of the region coaches.

Joining Buchanan on the first team are Loudoun County's Kendra Holmes and Brittany Batts, Millbrook's Courtni Green and Fluvanna's Mia Loyd. Green was the Division 3 Player of the Year.

Boys Basketball: Broad Run's McGaughey Region II D4 Player of the Year, PF's Hawes is D4 Coach of the Year

(Feb. 28, 2010) - Broad Run High School senior Kevin McGaughey was selected as the Region II Division 4 Player of the Year and Potomac Falls' Jeff Hawes, who led the Panthers to the school's first regional basketball title on Saturday night, was named the Division 4 Coach of the Year in a vote of coaches on Sunday.
