NCATS: Kennington and Castrol crew ready to race

With the first ever NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race now only days away, DJ Kennington and the Castrol Dodge Crew have nearly completed final preparations for the start of the season and have pronounced themselves ready to race.

The Castrol Dodge team first hit the track at Cayuga Speedway with other series competitors to complete an initial shake down the of the car and followed that up with the annual Mopar Day at Barrie Speedway where the Castrol Dodge was once again right up to speed. “We didn’t run a lot of laps at either of the test days, because we were very comfortable with how the car was performing” said driver DJ Kennington.

Over the couple of days the Castrol Dodge team will go through their usual pre race checklist to make sure they are 100% ready for the first event of the season. “All of the big work is done” smiled Kennington. “Now we just make sure that all of the little things are taken care of. Our pit carts are fully stocked with spare parts, all the equipment is in proper working order and pack everything up for the weekend”.

The entire Castrol Dodge team is also excited to be part of this new racing series. “I think everybody has been waiting for this for a long time” said Kennington. “Now it’s finally here and you can feel the excitement. Castrol has been part of the best racing in Canada for a long time and we’re looking forward to running up front this season”.
