Shane Jantzi Indy Updates from Glenn Butt

SHANE JANTZI FOURTH FASTEST AT INDY

Ayr, ON – May 24, 2007: Shane Jantzi is in the fast five following opening practice today for the Freedom 100 Indy Pro Series race tomorrow. Driving for Canadian Hall of Fame inductee Brian Stewart, Jantzi posted a time of 47.6091 seconds around the 2.5 mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway for an average speed of 189.039 mph in his #33 Maizex Seeds Inc. / Brian Stewart Racing entry.

The Freedom 100 marks Shane’s rookie debut race in the Indy Pro Series. Competing against a crop of veterans and rookies with three races under their belt already this year and countless laps of pre-season testing, Jantzi’s fourth fastest practice time is a testament to the young Canadian’s talent and the calibre of the entire Brian Stewart Racing team.

JANTZI SETS SITE ON THE POLE IN INDY DEBUT

Ayr, ON – May 24, 2007: Shane Jantzi turned the third fastest time in round two of practice for the Freedom 100 Indy Pro Series race Friday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The driver of the #33 Maizex Seeds Inc. / Brian Stewart Racing entry posted at lap time of 47.7078 (188.648 mph) making him third fastest of this session. With the rise of ambient temperatures the asphalt track temperature increased thus resulting in slightly slower times compared to the earlier session.

Shane will be fifth to go out for the two lap average qualifying time. The task at hand now for Brian Stewart Racing, Shane and his crew chief will be to achieve the optimum setup on the car for the track conditions approximately one hour and fifteen minutes from now.
