Stouffville, Ontario- Team 3 Red/EHR is ready to launch the the 2007 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season.
In a successful campaign in the 2006 season, Team 3 Red and driver Jason Hathaway secured 7 top ten finishes and showed their true ability with a top 5 finish at Cayuga Speedway. With their continuous effort and dedication Jason Hathaway was named 2006 CASCAR Rookie of the Year in his first year of CASCAR competition.
Since the conclusion of the 2006 season in September, team owner Ed Hakonson and newly appointed Director of Competition Duane Swinkels, have made some additions to their team. Giulio Montanari of Pefferlaw, Ontario joined Team 3 Red/EHR in 2007 as the #3 Snap on Tools Charger Crew Chief. He will head up all on track activities as well as run the team's 10,000 square foot shop located in Stouffville.
Giulio Montanari is looking forward to the season with Team 3 Red/EHR. "I'm excited to be a part of Team 3 Red/EHR. This team has a vision and goals for the future. Ed and Duane put together a team last year that really worked hard and their efforts showed on the racetrack. Jason is a young and talented driver who has proven he can win. I'm looking forward to building on the Team's momentum and make this even more successful this season."
Giulio's experience in motorsports is broad and he brings some great depth to the Team 3 Red/EHR stable. His knowledge comes from his years in super late models and late models at numerous short tracks around Ontario. Giulio moved south to work amongst the best of the business in the southern United States. Working with Dave Marcis as a fabricator and tire carrier, Giulio honed his skills and worked with Wally Dallenbach and Robby Gordon. Giulio's most memorable moment came working with Rick Mast capturing the pole for the NASCAR Winston Cup race at Rockingham.
2006 Rookie of the Year crew Chief Duane Swinkels has taken on a new post within the Team as the Director of Competition. He is ready for the upcoming season. "We are excited about the changes that we have made in the off season. We believe that the changes that we have made will not only represent our sponsors well, but also put us inline to be a contender in the 2007 season."

The first race on the 2007 Canadian Tire Series- 12 race schedule will be a night race on May 26th, 2007 at the infamous 3/8 mile paved oval-Cayuga Speedway, near Hamilton, Ontario. Followed up with the traditional Father's Day weekend at Mosport International Raceway road course, June 16th & June 17th.
