BRYAN CATHCART DISAPPOINTED AT PETERBOROUGH

This release prepared by Todd Lewis, TL Sports & Entertainment

August 22, 2005. Bryan Cathcart and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge team returned to the Speedway they call home for round number nine of the CASCAR Super Series season, Peterborough Speedway.

Cathcart was able to set the quick time early on in practice and felt confident they had a solid car for the race. After qualifying a disappointing 14th they remained optimistic knowing they had a car that could perform in the race.

As the green flag waved there was trouble in the opening laps, debris from another car found its way into the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge, losing power Cathcart slowed on the front straightaway. When the car finally made an appearance on pit road the crew diagnosed the problem and returning the motor to full song, however they had lost several laps in the process.

When racing resumed Cathcart had no trouble running lap times with the leaders of the race. “It’s too bad” said the driver afterwards. “It was a total fluke that caught us out. I decided at that point though our fate was sealed, I wasn’t going to race the leaders and I gave them every break I could. It’s frustrating but that’s how things go sometimes. It’s really nice to see how quick the team got us going again. On this 1/3 mile track we could easily have lost 10 or 20 laps, they did a great job.”

Bryan Cathcart and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge are back in action on the Labour Day weekend at Delaware Speedway near London, Ontario.
