Niagara Falls, ON. September 23, 2005 – Two of the most comprehensive and definitive radio programs of their kind, TAPS Radio and DriveLine, have found a new home in one of Canada’s premier gaming and entertainment facilities, Casino Niagara. Beginning Saturday September 24th at 1pm and every Saturday from there on, both these programs heard on NewsTalk 610 CKTB AM will broadcast live from a brand new state of the art studio located right in the heart of Casino Niagara’s gaming, restaurant, bar and entertainment area.
“This fits us like a surgical glove!” exclaims a jubilant John Bordignon “Johnny B” Host and Executive Producer of both TAPS Radio (Saturday 1-3pm EST) and DriveLine (Saturday 3-4pm EST). “TAPS Radio will benefit significantly from being at the center of a multi-venue entertainment facility. TAPS is the first radio program of its kind in Canada; so it’s only fitting we be the first to broadcast live from a casino each week. We’ll have access to world-class guests, fabulous restaurants and a cool sports bar and pub. This is what TAPS Radio was designed to focus on; it’s a perfect fit!
Johnny B is just as pumped about DriveLine. “Ever since I started up the premise for an automotive radio program 4 years ago I knew we were on to something. I keep telling people there’s no other radio program like this in the country. We cover inside industry news, racing, new and pre-owned vehicles and automotive repair.” Continues Johnny whose ego tends to get the best of him. “No one does it better than Rob and I, period!”
Bill Perrie, Co-Host of TAPS Radio and author of “Canada’s Best Pubs” and “The Pub Lover's Guide to Ontario" says, “being in the casino takes the show to greater heights, its an exciting time for TAPS radio and this premier location will help us grow like a fine single malt.” Aptly put by “Canada’s Pub Guy”. “I think the listeners are in for a treat as the caliber of guests and content will be top notch to reflect our surroundings.”
Rob Forte, Co-Host of DriveLine and an expert automotive technician and instructor says, “I thought Johnny was kidding when he first told me about the change, but it quickly became apparent that it was no joke. Broadcasting from Casino Niagara will further fuel the energy that we put into every show. Our show is about everything you drive and people will drive just about anything to get to a Casino so the fit is perfect.” Rob has been with DriveLine since it’s inception. “We're also closer to the border and that means a more variety of callers and topics...it's all good."
TAPS Radio (1-3pm EST) and DriveLine (3-4pm EST) heard exclusively every Saturday on NewsTalk 610 CKTB AM and now broadcasting live from Casino Niagara.
